Structured Cabling Systems Technician

Job Description: 

3cBSI is seeking an experienced structured cabling system technician for the Salt Lake Are. The individual will be responsible for project installation from start to finish. Qualified individuals will have 2+ years or equivalent experience and voice/data, fiber optic cabling, CCTV installations, T-1, D-marc extensions, Cat 5, Cat 6, & Cat 6a & Ethernet.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must be a team player and have good communication skills, oral and written, to be able to communicate with management daily to ensure that all the requirements are met. 
  • Proficient in terminating and testing copper and fiber.
  • Must have the ability to effectively and independently handle complex installs.
  • Understanding of building blueprints and floor plan schematics.
  • Demonstrated understanding of termination and testing of copper cabling on patch panels and 110 blocks.
  • Demonstrate quality workmanship to meet 3c standards.
  • Installation knowledge of fiber optic cabling, terminations, and testing. 
  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment to ensure maximum profit and minimal loss.
  • Must follow instructions. 

Requirements:

  • Be able to deliver high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Must be able to work well at heights or in confined spaces. 
  • Must be able to travel to the customer site, out out of town if necessary, and have a clean driving record. 
  • Respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
  • Pass a health physical, random drug screening, and a criminal background check.
  • OSHA 10 (or greater) Certified
  • Provide one's own handtools & small power tools. 
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and building telecom.
  • Present 3cBSI professionally and be a team player.
  • Must be willing to travel out of town periodically.
  • Organized, punctual, and motivated self-starter.
  • Must have a valid/current Utah Drivers License and current auto insurance. 

 

Successful applicants will be compensated according to years and level of experience, beginning at $20.00 per hour. with bonus options available.
